Thank you for watching! If you liked this video, make sure to check out our other ACL rehab videos! plclip.com/p/PLK514QIbc_Ri0HmoW4tJM6i2tTOEGDnk3
I'm only 6 months out after my ACL reconstruction and already so eager to return to my normal, active lifestyle. I just wanted to say how encouraged I am by all of you looking to continually improve yourselves and keep pushing yourselves despite such a brutal injury. Can't wait to be back out there with you all :)
It's been 14 months since I had my ACL reconstruction but I'm determined to go all these exercises just to gain a little bit more trust in my knee. Amazing video!
Speaking from experience, developing that trust in your operated knee goes SUCH a long way to feeling normal again and to being able to fully enjoy the activities you want. For me, that is soccer. After many months of PT and staying diligent with exercises, I feel like I can play at the level I did when I was younger and hadn't yet torn my ACL (twice). A big part of that comes from the trust I have in my knee after doing exercises, progressing, and seeing that my operated knee can perform.
Everyone needs to get into rehab right away. You guys a detoriating thr heal and the strengthening integrity of the acl replacemnt
@yang zhao keep it up, physio is amazing. I'm only 2 weeks post surgery now but I have great range already and can easily walk without crutches (just still with brace at 0). I'm very confident I'll be back to normal in at most 9 months. Make sure you do exercises at least twice a day and you should be good in a few months time.Take care!
My ACL reconstruction 9 month complete running per day 3 km no problem but khat khat sound and loss mussle , surgery leg narrow
Thank you for this. I tore my ACL when I was 12 and didn’t really understand what that meant until I was 22. I never got surgery nor went to real rehab for it; so although I’m back to moving pretty normally and even play sports fairly often, I can tell me knee isn’t where it’s supposed to be. I have very little insight on what to do to improve it since my case doesn’t seem all that common, so this helps a ton. If you could share some advice on whether I should still look to surgically ‘repair’ it I’d really appreciate that. Keep up the good work and God bless.
I definitely recommend surgically repairing it. Got operated on 2 months ago and am already seeing a big difference. Tore my ACL this Jan 2022 and got operated on June 2022 but I have a friend who hasn't been operated on and now his body has "digested" his ACL which results in his knee giving way alot more than normal
I just downloaded your Knee Resilience program from your website and looking forward to implementing it. Your program on overcoming plantar pain worked better than I even dared to hope. After two years of leg injuries and then the pandemic, I'm looking forward to running my first marathon in 3 years - all thanks to you guys.
It’s been 2 1/2 months for me, currently on the single leg stage and also slight running. Thanks for this
Great comprehensive video. I love all the options and context that you provide! Keep up the good work! Just got ACL a few weeks ago and gaining more confidence with mobility.
I’m about 6 months post op it gets a lot better. Be strict about the rehab.
Great video! I’m a little past 2 months out and kettle squats are great. I can do some jogging but still need some work. Love this information 👍👍👍👍
How are you doing now? I underwent an Aclr and Pclr, and wanted to know about rehab as I'm going to start flexion in upcoming week
I just had an MRI and found out I have a torn ACL. I cried when I first found out because I love skiing and dancing, and I've never had any major surgery done before. I know that many people have recovered from a torn ACL, but I was still really upset. After watching your video, I'm feeling more informed and definitely a little more confident in recovering. Hopefully I'll be back on the slopes by next year. Thanks for creating this video!
Skiing equals ACL surgery.
How are you doing now ?
Stay strong.. you will be alright soon
@Darcy Waddell you know the lifespan of the graft? How much they degenerate? Best of getting the best muscle bulk /proprioception first. Then see if what you do requires massive surgery or not.
@Darcy Waddell 2nd? On the same knee?
It's been one and a half months since my ACL surgery, I can walk normally on a flat surface but I kinda wobble when I'm walking on the road what exercise should I do to prevent this wobbling? My current range of knee bending is 125 degree
Brother, you are 👏! Here I am almost a year into it and I didn't know about the specific experiences and time involved. The surgent sent me home with exercise pictures, but they got left behind at the hospital. Rehab was beneficial but I didn't know how it's supposed to progress😒. This video structured my progress from now on...specially when I had put some holes in the cartilage, and torned meniscus.
Thanks for sharing this to us. I had my ACL surgery last October. This video is a great guide for recovery. Could you please let me know how is the body mass been calculated ？ is it the same as body mass index?
@E3 Rehab which means for a person who weight 80kg, the weight of 200% MB single limb KG press/squat is equals to 160kg.
@E3 Rehab thanks for your quick response!
Body mass = body weight
This is my favorite video yet. It's amazing you guys offer this information for free. Thank you for you content!
This is absolutely helpful! Thank you!
While we shouldn't use time to dictate what we are doing without prior testing/prerequisites, is there a rough typical timelime that you end up seeing with these phases (disregarding multi-ligament or meniscus repair)? I.e. phase 1: 1 week. Phase 5: 3 months. Phase 9: 7 months and so on?
Bruh, thank you for posting, being friendly, and so informative. You're being a teacher. Thank you.Don't thank us =D
Do you have a download available of the 10 tasks, objectives and exercises? This would be so helpful for those of us just starting rehab after ACL reconstruction.
I had a knee injury in 2019.In the MRI i found Lateral meniscus torn at anterior and posterior horn and ACL sprain.I rested and did physiotherapy. In the recent MRI there is only ACL sprain and bursitis.I am able to run slowly.I think I can recover properly and play football again by following these rehab exercises.
Thank you for sharing! I’ve been trying to gauge where I’m at in my rehabilitation process. Its so hard to find information like this online!
Its really clear and useful !! Thank you so much!
Amazing, thank you! I especially appreciate the literature references. Exactly the video I was looking for
For the single leg press strength requirements, which type of leg press machine are you referring to? Ie the horizontal or the 45° machine. Thanks for the video, very helpful! I'm 10 weeks post op and almost ready to run.
it looks like horizontal which seems much easier than a 45 degree. I use 45 degree at my gym and the weights required seem much more challenging than those presented here.
Another super-dooper educational video 🤝 thank you guys 💯🙏
3 months since my 2 operation for my acl and meniscus starting my exercises slowly Going to follow this programme religiously Thank you 💪🏻👍🏻
@Rudy Melendrez hey thanks for asking!I’m still recovering. soon 🚀
How are you feeling now?
@stranger Gaming nothing I didn’t do proper rehab I didn’t give myself a proper rest I was back at training after 4 months And then while playing basketball 2 years later I injured the same leg
What happened in 1 operation
Great video - Functionality should be the goal and not the timeline!
this is incredible!absolutely amazing video.I'm 1 month post op and am currently working on my single leg squat.Do you know where within these markers explosive weighted exercises can be included?such as power cleans, snatches and barbell squat jumps?
Based on this paper, Task 6 is probably the most similar in nature to what you're describing, but there will be variability between individuals.
This is the best video relating to ACL I can find!!! Excellent presentation!!!!!!
It's been 2 years since my surgery I'll be trying this excersices, I want to feel my self again
It would be great if you could do a similar video on rehab after microfracture of the patella!
Great video Dr, I loved it 👏would you do one for PCL ? It seems ACL is the most common one and there´s not much info about PCL rehab
Agree! One on PCL would be great too
This is really awesome. Again. As usual. Great Work!! Thank you
Very good video! But how realistic is 200% single leg on a leg press for the majority of people? I dont think many athletes can do that
The authors of the paper work with many elite athletes so yes, 200% might not be feasible for everyone.
I have a patient undergoing BPB ACLR tomorrow, this was HUGE timing! Best physio channel out there
thanks man... this is the exact video i was looking for.
This is the 5th day of my ACL reconstruction Surgery..( after 6 month bed rest now i have done my surgery due to heavy pain )But now i am walking with a knee braze ..i know i can be like before again soon ..i will work hard for that
Very good and useful video. Thanks!
Thanks a lot doctor I hard acl surgery five months ago and I'm very happy to watch this video again thank you very much
Extremely detailed curated info. Best info👍
I had ACL reconstruction surgery in 1994. I didn't do anything like this in rehab but thought I should as I was a competitive soccer player. I have never quite gotten the function back. I quit playing recreational soccer in 2012 because the pain and recovery time lasted too long after each game. I'm going to try these exercises although I think I will have to move slowly between the stages now. I haven't jumped much or run very far in years. I wish my physical therapist would have been this knowledgeable about the rehab.
So at 73.5 kg I should be doing 147kg for 8-10 reps on my injured leg before I can move onto agility? That seems like a lot. Also, it seems to be my hamstring that I struggle with as that's where the graft came from. What percentage of bodyweight should I be looking to leg curl?
Thank you! really good review for this type of rehab
You haven't mentioned the right or left leg ACL reconstruction in this video. According to MRI results my right knee ACL shown complete tear, but after visiting doctor, he said it's not completely tear, cover it straight for twenty days. I followed his instruction and now it's okay, but doing some physiotherapy and exercises everyday to come to normal conditions. I have little problem to go up or down in stairs as normal...
Lucky! Be strict with the rehab
It’s been 20 months since i got my acl and meniscus reconstruction but i feel bad pain doing those exercises. Is that normal ? i’ve been kind of inactive lately but i’m not sure if i’m doing it right
I have a torn ACL....i'm addicted to play basketball....since 2012 i was injured 5 times (all in my left knee).....this exercises helps a lot...but i suggests to use knee pad with 2 side brase for better moving (euro steps)
So I would consider myself an elite athlete, with that said , is squatting 315 4 months after my surgery bad? I have full range of motion and stability is great , i can completely contract my quad with my leg fully extended. Thanks for any info
I had ACL surgery five months ago and I'm still in pain at the punch and scope area; it's so bad that I can't climb or descend stairs. Can anyone tell me how to stop the pain and what medication I should take to make it go away? I don't have problems with walking and power walking.. just that..
Left leg ACL injury 7yrs ago, now age-27, weight-88kgs, height-5.7,+have knock knees..........What should I do to run effectively to gain stamina and cure the knock knees?
I'm 2 weeks post op. I still can't fully extend my leg. Swelling is still present :( I had 4 ligaments torn in my left knee. Will I ever get my ROM back to base?
3 month im depressed becauce i cant play basketball again, but when i found your video i think theres another chance for me to rehab my acl wish me luck and get back to court thanks for video
What if you are able to do an outcome measure without the strength or vice versa??What if you aren’t able to do one stage but can easily do the next stage?? I’ve always struggled with a single leg squat and my single leg strength on both legs are weak. Is that considered normal as I generally am quite weak?
3:10 I’m very confused, the article mentions you need to be able to leg press 100% of your bodyweight with 2 legs. When you mention 80% on single leg, do you mean you use 80% of weight resistance or you use assistance to a point where you’re only pushing 80% of your bodyweight?
Thank u for sharing such a amazing video🙏
I’m going on almost a year after my acl surgery and I still feel pain and numbness in my knee what do you suggest I do ?
I have numbness 6-7 months after surgery due to nerve block. Dr says likely will never go away, but it's getting easier to deal with. Pain after a year maybe go see your Dr again?
This practice can be started after how many days after the operation?
Best video ive ever watch about ACL. its very understandable. thank you so much
Love your video ❤️🔥🔥Can i use this after 5 months of Acl Reconstruction !!??
Do one for rotator cuff tear and labrum tear ! 🙏🙏🙏
Quick question, in task-2 you mentioned leg press with 50% of body mass, I assume you used weight and mass interchangeably? Please correct me if I’m wrong
I had an expansion in the mid acl for almost 2months now and i got diagnosed but the pain is still there when i put an effort on it, is that normal? I mean is it healed and should i start doing some exercises?
My meniscus is removed and ACL surgery is done 10 month before. Which exercises i should do now?
Sir ,which exercise can i do after 120days acl surgery
To measure and demonstrate symmetry you have used graphic laser markers , which module or software is it that you have used to pause and see this , Great and content in all your videos , very helpful , thank you very much
They're just graphics for demonstration purposes.
Plz make clear after how many weeks which exercise should be done Thanks
Would the rehabilitation protocol entirely change if it is a lateral meniscus repair with ACL reconstruction?
I haven't done surgery on my knee for acl problem. Can i cure it by doing these exercises? All the steps should be done in a day is it?
I was doing 120lbs for 4 reps on the leg extension with the knee I had surgery on (ACL, MCL) now I can't even seem to do the minimum on the machine which is 30lbs without a lot of pain somewhere in the kneecap. Any suggestions of what could've happened? I don't remember getting hurt. I did do a couple stretches I saw from the knees over toes guy! Scared I might need a other surgery! When I'm in bed I can't even lift the blanket with my knee bent without feeling a lot of pain.
Don’t follow what kneesovertoesguy does because his exercises are not for ACL rehab How are you doing now?
I have been gone through an operation after acl injury and almost one year is completed but still i found my knee unbalanced because i didn't take care of the exercises due to busy schedule so is there any possibility that it will recover know because i can't bend my knee totally.
This is excellent. New subscriber!
Sir, I feel pain in squat position ,what I have to do this exercise or not?
Can I still use these exercises even when I didnt get my acl tear reconstructed?
That's a given bro. Of course you can. But it won't help your acl if you have a full tear.
When you say leg press with atleast 150% of body mass - does that mean your body weight included and then weight on top of that? Or you should be lifting weights worth 150% of your body weight alone?
Nice explanation. thanks
When it says 150% for example does that mean ur body weight then 50% of ur body weight added via the weights on the side? For example i weight 90kg so it would be my bodyweight then 45kg in extra weights added. Great video mate
what is it body mass? is it same as body mass index or normal weight in kg or pound?
What do you mean by Body Mass? Your weight in KG's?
It is useful for partial tear?
I had injury on Oct 25 2021, I didn't operate my knees... I had a mild shocks n my knee is still very week.. I started gym it's been a week plz tell me how to make it stronger and when to start running...
Amazing Vidéo Thanks
I got an acl tear about 2 years ago but my tear was so small doctors didn't recommend surgery. I got used to doing lighter tasks and giving up lots of my old habits but the other day I was literally picking a ball up when my leg buckled and injured the same way. I'm thinking my acl ripped more but I won't find out until tomorrow morning
@Bubby Radio Tarot incredibly unfortunate. Sorry to hear, godspeed in your recovery!
@Ricky H hey thanks for it but unfortunately it was more than an ACL tear. When my MRI was done, my ACL was pretty much gone. My left meniscus had a rip down the middle and my right meniscus had ripped in half and detached from the bone! But the good news is I had my surgery last week and I'm on the road to recovery 🤞
Goodluck. Praying it's not a full tear
great... good advice for me
I feel it’s a underrated channel, best video I have watched till now, thanks for info 👍 from 🇮🇳
How much day?? We can do this exercise after surgery???
What is knee extensor strength?
Thank you very much 🌹
Hello its also can i doing these exercises after 4 months ankle surgery!? Thx
Looks like I'm not doing nearly enough weight on the single leg press
Is it possible to recover from a damaged ACL without surgery?
Damaged(not a complete tear) yes. Completely torn(full tear) no. Surgery will be required.
Hello doc, please help my daughter, how is the correct process for her heat stroke condition, please help her and give me edia kc until now we haven't returned to rehab
Brilliant very comprehsnive
Hello, i keep injured my knees. Right or left. Time to time they are both injured. When I'm exercising while i lunge my lover legs knee suddenly starts paining and i couldn't even do normal squat. What's my knees problem? İ hope you understand. Sorry for grammar. While lunging my lover knee injures. Time to time right or left. Now the right one gives so much pain. I couldn't do exercise.
Hi sir I am from India I have injury my right knee acl only 50 percent of tear doctor said what I should do please suggest me doctor suggested me to do excersize
I'm sorry but isn't 200% of body mass with just one leg too much? I broke my acl and meniscus 11 months ago and as for now I can push 110% of my body mass with the injured leg, do I really need to reach 200% in order to start playing football again?
Can anyone weigh in on non surgical route? I’m 3 days post complete acl tear so I’m obviously not doing great. But I am doing better than the day of so that’s improvement. I can bend slightly, cannot extend fully though. But I don’t want to go through the surgery and be worse off. I’m afraid the pain of post surgery will prohibit me from actually working on it. Also cannot afford physical therapy even with insurance.
Does acl construction lead to arthritis after 10 years
Please help me.I'm operated 5 years back for ACL surgery, Now because of 15kg gain in weight in this covid pandemic yesterday my operated knee slightly dislocate. Now seens last 1 day swelling on my operated knee. What to do for getting rid of swelling and recovering from this pain except icing? Please help me ASAP.Thanks.
Hlo sir what can I say if it realated to MCL with PCL surgery 6 months completed bending is not coming out completely
Anyone know where o can get the paper that is referred to in the video. I didn’t catch the name. Cheers.
